What is the aim of SMWC17?
The Smart Mobility World Congress aims to help accelerate adoption of mobility solutions. By becoming the annual meeting point for industry players and relevant authorities from around the world, we facilitate the process of responding to challenges faced the mobility sector, multi-sectorial players and cities through knowledge exchange and project demonstrations.


What is the value-added of this event?
SMWC17 will be celebrated jointly with the Smart City Expo World Congress (7th edition). SMWC17 will leverage on the presence of 650 cities represented from more than 125 countries that have urban mobility as priority in their agendas. As visitor of the SMWC17 you will benefit from an array of exhibitors that work in the mobility space, but also exhibitors that cover business revolving technology and sustainability products and service offering for smart cities – that total over 600 international companies.

SMWC17 offers you the possibility of networking with 17,000 visitors, most of them international, during the 3 days of celebration..

Regarding conference sessions on mobility, we offer a dedicated mobility track within Smart City Expo World Congress complemented by open speaking sessions and demos in the Agora (exhibit floor) and specialized panels in railroad.


How many people are expected to attend SMWC17?
SMWC17 will be co-located with the Smart City Expo World Congress. We expect 17,000 visitors from key industries in the private public sectors.


What companies and professionals should I expect will participate?
Even though 2017 makes the inaugural edition of SMWC, the event already counts with market leaders as partners and exhibitors from the mobility track of Smart City Expo World Congress, as well as an international community of visiting professional who attend the event annually. Starting 2017, SMWC17 will take the mobility track further by presenting a specialized development of this sector in the conference area, in the exhibit floor and marketing campaigns.


Who will exhibit at the SMWC17?
Several companies from the dynamic mobility space are supporting this event. We understand that developments in this sector require partnerships from companies that operate traditionally in different industries. These are: urban transport operators (above-ground and underground), railroad operators, technology players, mobile operators, car industry and related sectors.

What is the visitor profile?
SMWC visitors are professionals from the dynamic mobility sector. This includes public and private transport providers, above-ground and underground operators, developers of user-centered mobility services, technology players; and public decision makers on transportation. Can I attend only one day of the event or do I have to buy a full pass?
If you are visiting the event one day, you have the option to buy a 1-day pass. There are different types of passes for the SMWC17 and Smart City Expo World Congress 17 that suits your needs. You can buy a visitor pass (3 days), a delegate pass (1 day) or a full delegate pass (3 days).

What can I access with my visitor pass?
Your SMWC17 visitor pass will grant you access to the joint exhibit floor of the SMWC17 and the Smart City Expo World Congress 17. If you purchase or upgrade to a delegate pass, you will have full access to the conference sessions.

What networking options do I have included in my pass?
SMWC17 visitors have a number of tools at their disposal to network with exhibiting companies and other international visitors:

  • Attend the Awards Ceremony and the post-awards networking cocktail.

Is there any discount available?

How do I pay for my pass?

Credit card is our only payment method, as it facilitates visitors immediate purchase and tracking.


I have already registered; how can I access my pass to print it?

You can print your pass by logging in the Visitor Area and clicking ‘Print locator number' in the ‘Visit' section. We advise you to print it beforehand to avoid lines.


Can I get my visitor badge onsite?
Yes. You can go to any of the registration counters, give your data and receive a printed badge. We advise you, however, to print it beforehand to avoid lines and ensure a speedier access to the event.


Can I buy my pass onsite?
Yes. You can go to any of the registration counters and buy your pass with a credit card.


Cancellations:
We regret that no refunds can be made for cancellations. However, we welcome substitute delegates at any time up until one week prior to the event.


What are the show opening and closing times?
The show opens from 9 AM to 7 PM.

How can I access my invoice?
If you requested your invoice during the registration process, log on the Visitor Area and it will be available in the "invoice" section. If you did not request an invoice during the registration process, you can do so by contacting the invoice department: +34 93 233020 00 / mcruellas@firabarcelona.com.

Can I participate as a speaker?
The 2017 Call for Speakers for SMWC has closed. We receive speaker applications on a rolling basis to be considered for SMWC18 as well as for abroad events that happen all year round. If you are interested in speaking in the SMWC, please, fill the speaker participation form here.

Alternatively, speakership opportunities are available to partnering companies. Should you be interested, please do not hesitate to contact us at smartmobilitycongress.sales@firabarcelona.com. We will happy to discuss possible speakership opportunities and other benefits your company can get through a partnership.

Do I need a visa to attend the event?

It depends on your nationality. Please check applicable visa requirements to travel to Spain at your Embassy or Consulate.

If you need to apply for visa to enter in Spain, the Organization of the show will provide you with an invitation letter that you can show at the Embassy/Consulate of Spain in your country together with your application. To request it, you must first register in our website.

You can check whether you need visa or not here.

Important note: the organization of the show is not responsible for the approval of your visa. The denial of an entry visa is not a reason for receiving the registration costs back. We advise you to plan participation ahead with enough time to process your travel visa.


Is there a bag storage or a cloakroom at the venue?

Yes. It is located at the entrance of the venue.
